Tiffani McGinnis was born in Nashville, Tennessee and grew up in a small suburb of Nashville. She earned a degree in Health Care Administration and Planning from Tennessee State University. She graduated cum laude while working and becoming a mom while in college. Tiffani and her husband, Matthew, have three children. Their eldest, Jade, lives in Nashville with her husband, Logan. Daughter Ryley graduated from UConn in 2019 and currently lives in Virginia with her husband, Matt. Their youngest, Flynn, is currently a sophomore at UConn. He attended King Philip Middle School and graduated from Northwest Catholic High School.

In the spring of 2023, Tiffani accepted an appointment to fill a vacancy on the West Hartford Town Council, joining just as the annual budget process was underway. Along with her Democratic colleagues, they passed a budget that ensured all new positions were fully funded and not dependent on American Rescue Plan funds that would not be available in the following fiscal year.

Tiffani has a long history of supporting the Democratic Party and Democratic candidates. That has included serving as Vice Chair of the West Hartford Democratic Town Committee, campaign manager for State Senator Derek Slap and former Town Council member Leon Davidoff, and treasurer for the reelection campaign of Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz. Tiffani also founded New England Women for Biden-Harris and continues to be part of the national Women for Biden-Harris leadership team.

From Nashville, Tennessee, to Chapel Hill, North Carolina and now West Hartford, Connecticut, one thing has not changed: Tiffani’s belief that government should be a force for good and that it takes strong, thoughtful, and compassionate leadership to do that. If you agree with Tiffani, please sign up to volunteer, donate and/or host a lawn sign. She looks forward to seeing you on the campaign trail and earning your vote on November 7.
